The psychologist who introduced regulated behaviour therapy to Sri Lanka and founded The Tree House International has received PSI's highest individual distinction, for his contribution to psychology and neurodevelopmental care.

What happened
The Psychological Society of Ireland is the professional body for psychologists in Ireland, and Fellowship is the highest distinction it gives an individual. Dr Anton James received it for his contribution to psychology and neurodevelopmental care, and in doing so became the first Sri Lankan Fellow of the society.
It is the latest in a series of firsts. Dr James is described as Sri Lanka's first home-grown board certified behaviour analyst, the clinical qualification behind applied behaviour analysis, and he introduced regulated behaviour therapy to the country. He founded The Tree House International to provide that care in Sri Lanka, and most recently led MERAK 2026, a campaign that set a Guinness World Record.
